Description

The Council wishes to work with a partner to provide DECs for its buildings over 1000m2 and where required ARs. In the future the scope of this contract may change if the legislation is amended to include buildings between 500m2 and 1000m2. The Council has approximately 265 buildings on 202 sites that will require an existing DEC to be renewed. These include schools, offices, libraries, day centres et al. This number is not a guarantee of the final volume of work. As stipulated in Communities and Local Government (CLG) guidance see www.communities.gov.uk , the Supplier will include to attend site to familiarise himself/herself with the building and verify the quality of the information provided. If the next year DEC is produced by a previous year assessor, and a declaration that nothing has changed has been provided by the building occupant, the building facilities manager or another third party qualified to provide such information, then a site visit is not mandatory. The Council are looking to award an initial contract for one year with the option to extend for a further year. The contract start date will be the 1st June 2012 and expire 31st May 2013 with the option to extend to the 31st May 2014 at the Council’s discretion.
